So, here are a team of walkers who have dedicated themselves to the Breast Cancer 3 Day by walking 60 miles over 3 days, and raising $13,200.00 as a team in order to do it. We keep asking everyone for their help. And, you wonder, how can I help? There are many things you can do to help our team!
—Each team member has committed to raise $2200.00 for the Susan G Komen Foundation in order to walk, so we need donations! NO amount is too small….every dollar that we receive puts us that much closer to our goal..so do not think that your $5 donation will not make a difference, because it will..and we are thankful to get it! —All participants in the 3 day are responsible for their own travel to their selected walk site. Team Groovy Mamas is made up of 6 people from all over the U.S, so we chose Philadelphia as the most neutral location for our walk site, for many of us that will require a round trip plane ticket. Maybe you know someone in the airline industry who can get us a good deal on our tickets, or maybe you have frequent flyer miles you would like to donate to offset our out of pocket costs.
—We are also responsible for the appropriate gear for walking, which includes special socks, special sneakers, fanny packs with water bottles, rain gear, sleeping bags (for those that do not already have them). So, if you would like to donate a giftcard from a sporting goods store to assist in the purchase of these specialty items, or you know of a sporting goods store that would like to donate them, or give us a special deal…please let us know!
