Do you take vitamins? I should, but it’s a habit I’ve never been able to get into. I’m sure that with my high Coca-Cola intake, I’m lacking in a few needed areas, like calcium. There are a lot of Women’s Vitamins made just for women and our health issues, including blood sugar, cardiovascular health, menopause, osteoporosis, pre-menstrual, pre-natal, and more. I’m interested in overall general wellness, so I found the Nutra Women Suite, which contains all the vitamins I need, plus extra calcium and Vitamin E. Why Vitamin E? It’s a strong antioxidant that works to protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are substances that result from normal metabolism, as well as environmental factors like smoke and UVA rays. And of course, all women need calcium to build strong bones. The best way to take calcium is in milk, but for some of us, that’s not appealing. Women should get at least 1500 milligrams of calcium a day! And what the heck is Omega-3, and why do women need it? They are fatty acids, which are the building blocks of edible oils and fats. They are essential for humands, and you mostly find Omega-3’s in fish. I hate fish, so that’s out. But why do I need it? Cancer is less common in communities that eat large amounts of fish, and the reason is thought to be Omega-3. There is also an Omega-3 connection with fetal development, specifically in the formation of the fetal brain, eyes, and nervous system.

Bottom line, if you’re not taking vitamins (like me!) it’s time to start!
