One of my friends told me that there’s an 8 day walk through Italy next year to raise money for breast cancer. Wouldn’t that be amazing? The longest day is only about 12 miles, so it’s not as much walking as the 3day, which is good, because I’d hate to think of people walking through Italy and not able to enjoy their surroundings. I don’t think I’m going to make it to Italy in 2007, but it’s definitely something I’d love to do.
In addition to letting you comparision shop for your health insurance, Vimo wants you to be able to make an informed decision about the doctors and dentists you choose to go to. If you’re looking for a dentist in Pasco County, Fl, I can tell you who to avoid, and his name is Dr. Alan Hecht. We don’t see him anymore, but I’m not sure why we waited so long to leave! He was definitely a cold fish, and not a warm, or even friendly person. Just sort of indifferent to everyone.
However, if you need to see a gynocologist or obstetrician, I can’t rave enough about Dr. Williams in Tarpon Springs. Especially during my last pregnancy, when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor, he always took the time to answer all of my questions and let me know that everything was going to be ok.
If you go to Vimo now and review 2 doctors of your own, you’ll get a free Vimo t-shirt!

After watching this video, I think I have a future as a model. No wonder women have such poor self esteem and think that they’re fat/ugly/old/wrinkly. I’d like to see more real women in advertising.
Have you seen the informercial advertising a 6 week body makeover? And I don’t mean the kind you get by going on Extreme Makeover! I saw a blurb on late night TV about it, and I’m curious to know how a mass-produced, mass-marketed product can be “customized to you and your exact needs”. I’m also curious to know how working out for 15-18 minutes a day will make a difference for most people. That sounds like a big shortcut. At $94.99, you’re better off getting a membership to your local YMCA.
Did I mention that Cheryl lost her toenail at pit stop 3? It was very traumatic. We had to stop for Dove bars at the gas station to feel better about this blow to our team! We knew we were getting close – we had seen the sign that said only 1 mile remained. Of course, was it a real mile, or a breast cancer mile? As we walked through the last neighborhood, folks came out to cheer us on, and told us we only had 6 more blocks…4 more blocks…finally we were back on the main road and we could see Chris waiting for us.
We got up to the corner of Villanova University and could see our family and friends waiting across the street for us. Our cousins had come over from New Jersey to see us, and Jeff, aka team husband, was waiting with roses for all of us, and more importantly, FLIP FLOPS for all of us! We walked the home stretch and went into the holding area. We were scanned one last time, and grabbed our free t-shirts, and settled into a shady spot. It felt sooooo good to take off my sneakers and socks. I was able to grab one of the foot massager thingies at the La Croix tent, and I had all the pain vibrated away. Finally the last walkers were coming in, so we stood and cheered them on. Then it was time to line up, because we were going to closing ceremonies.

The site has a reference section where you can get information on health topics, as well as a support group area with topics such as ADHD, pain management, caregivers, breast cancer, parenting & kids, and much more. I was able to visit the breast cancer support group and found it a bit lacking – it had a message board with only 2 posts, and not much in the way of support. If I had just received a diagnosis, it wouldn’t be my first stop for support, so the site definitely needs to ramp that area up while they have time. It could be a really great resource for women and men who do need breast cancer support.
We passed by a small Catholic church while we walked, and the priest was standing outside, blessing walkers. So of course I stepped up for my blessing, and now I can tell my mom I went to church that day. We skipped the next pit stop, since we were making a good stride through the neighborhoods of Ardmore and Haverford. What beautiful little towns! We stopped again at a McDonalds to use their bathrooms and Sindy got a McFlurry
Finally we made it to lunch, after a few more small hills, and we met up with Dana there. Lunch was a turkey sandwich, and it was somewhat edible. Cheryl had a nice bloody sock to show off, which made the sandwich a bit un-edible.
I love Burt’s Bees products, but I hate driving to the mall to get them. Their Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is awesome! I found a big selection of their products at N101 Nutrition, but what really intrigues me is the customer rewards program. You earn 1 point for every dollar you spend at N101 Nutrition, and you can also earn points by referring family and friends to their store. Then you can use your points online for gifts and discounts on future orders. Their prices seem pretty reasonable, and they even provide volume discounts. They’ve got a big selection of protein bars – maybe we’ll need to buy those in bulk for next years 3day – LOL!![]()
My final count, 3 weeks after the fact….I have lost THREE toenails. One was lost during the 3 Day, another fell off the week after, and just lost another..I think the rest are good.
Remember all of the issues I had getting this site started up, and the logo created? It was a nightmare, and I ended up spending a lot of money and getting not much in return. I know now that logo design doesn’t have to be that way – in fact, you can get a logo design starting at only $99 online. At Logo Stick, you’ll be able to choose from thousands of images and add your personal touch, yet you only have to buy the logo you love. You’ll be able to design and store up to 10 logos in their system without committing to buy anything, and you can show them to your friends or co-workers to get feedback before you buy. And the price is definitely right!
They’ve got a great gallery of logos catagorized by profession so you can see some samples before you start working on your perfect logo design.
