How did everyone do with their holiday spending? One thing that will keep your stress level high after the holidays is getting a bunch of bills in January to pay for all of the gifts and decorations and food. You DO know that Black Friday is so named because it’s the day when most retailers start to turn a profit for the year, right? Overspending in December may be easy, but it’s time to pay the piper now. Some people do plan ahead - my new sponsor told me that January is the month when applications are made for new credit cards in the UK, because people are transfering high balances to cards with 0% balance transfers or low interest cards. If you’re ready for a switch, you can easily compare credit cards online. We switched some of ours up recently and saved a lot of money in interest before we paid off some cards. It’s nice to know that our Christmas was completely credit free, so our 2007 will be completely debt free!
