Some of my longtime readers who read my other blog on a regular basis may recall me talking about sex ed last year. Yes, the lovely school system here in Florida starts things in 4th grade. My daughter, who is quite possibly one of the most naive kids ever, sat in a “tea” with me, where she learned about the menstrual cycle via a lovely video that was severely outdated. The highlight of the video was where the women used pancake batter to make fallopian tubes on a griddle. Sheesh!

We’re in a different county this year, so I’m not sure if they will also start sex ed in 4th grade, but if I they do, I’ve got another little girl who will need to go to the “menstrual tea”. I’m all for teaching kids about sex ed and pregancy, but I didn’t like the school nurse who put this production together last year, or the video that was used. I’m hoping with being in a new county, things will be better this year, but only time will tell. I do think that getting anything is better than nothing though. I knew of a lot of girls in high school who thought some real strange things when it came to having sex and getting pregnant, and I don’t want my kids to be like that. I’m all for condoms and sex ed!

Anyway, the whole point of this is to tell you about a new site I found, who happens to be sponsoring this blog entry. At Pink Apple they’ve got a lot of products for women having to with sex, relationships, and health. Now, I don’t recommend you buy tampons from them, because at $8.95 for a box of 40, that’s highway robbery. You can just run yourself to the grocery store if that’s all you need. But they do have a very nice selection of things you can’t get at the grocery store, or things you may not want to buy there, like this pregnancy test or these books. There’s even a whole grooming and shaving area on the site, and as someone who has gotten waxed DOWN THERE before, I’m all over that. How can you resist something called Coochy Cream, anyway?
